Ozaukee County Talks About Race Book Discussion
As part of Ozaukee County Talks About Race and in conjunction with Bridge the Divide, Ozaukee County, the UW Extension Ozaukee, and other Ozaukee County public libraries, the January 2021 CPL Adult Book Club selection is Color of Law by Richard Rothstein. Copies of the book will be available at the CPL Check-Out Desk or by request in multiple formats through the Monarch catalog. Bridge the Divide's founder Erica Turner will be joining us for this discussion so hope you can join us for this virtual chat.
“Just like Supreme Court justices, we as a nation have avoided contemplating remedies because we’ve indulged in the comfortable delusion that our segregation has not resulted primarily from state action and so, we conclude, there is not much we are required to do about it. Because once entrenched, segregation is difficult to reverse, the easiest course is to ignore it.”
― Richard Rothstein, The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America
Registration is required. Please sign up using our online events calendar or call us at 262-375-7640, ext. 200. An invitation to the Zoom meeting will be sent out prior to the event.
